چکیده
Aims: To examine the impact of using Royal College Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) COVID-19 Gestational Diabetes (GDM) criteria on identifying women with GDM. Methods: Data were collected between November 2018 June 2019, from previously diagnosed GDM NICE guidelines, who also had HbA1c data available. These used to determine whether they would have been RCOG applied. compare birth fetal outcomes, medical management. Results: Eighty-nine included; 43 (48%) met both diagnostic (RCOG + group), while 46 (52%) only missed (NICE group). There no significant differences in outcomes groups terms neonatal delivery complications. More group required treatment insulin (11 [25.6%] vs 1 [2.2%], p=0.0010) or metformin (23 [53.5%] 14 [30.4%], p=0.03). Conclusions: Applying resulted approximately half be missed, one-third whom severe resistance requiring insulin. The retrospective design this study may not represent these if their diagnosis missed. Women should informed about risk when offered an oral glucose tolerance test guide decision making. Copyright © 2023 John Wiley & Sons.

Screening for gestational diabetes by measuring fasting plasma glucose levels.
OBJECTIVES (a) To test the sensitivity and specificity of measuring fasting plasma glucose levels (FPG) as a screening test for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). (b) To compare predicting levels of FPG levels with the one-hour, oral 50g non-fasting glucose challenge test (GCT) for predicting GDM. METHODS One thousand and six hundred pregnant women from the Health Centres, antenatal clinics...
متن کاملdevelopment of different optical methods for determination of glucose using cadmium telluride quantum dots and silver nanoparticles
a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...

Impact of SCP-2/SCP-x gene ablation and dietary cholesterol on hepatic lipid accumulation.
While a high-cholesterol diet induces hepatic steatosis, the role of intracellular sterol carrier protein-2/sterol carrier protein-x (SCP-2/SCP-x) proteins is unknown. We hypothesized that ablating SCP-2/SCP-x [double knockout (DKO)] would impact hepatic lipids (cholesterol and cholesteryl ester), especially in high-cholesterol-fed mice. DKO did not alter food consumption, and body weight (BW) ...
